Everyone's nervous when they're having their picture taken. Well, not everyone. I'm sure there's plenty of models who are extremely comfortable in front of the camera as they spend a lot of their time in front of one. But with regard to mere mortals like ourselves, it's pretty safe to assume that people tense up whenever the camera is pointed at them.
That's perfectly understandable. The camera directs attention towards you, the subject, and most of us are just not comfortable with that. Again, there are exceptions, but they're not as common as you might imagine. In this post I will outline some of the things that will happen on your photography session with me, to put your mind at ease, and give you a greater understanding of the process.
When you make contact with me tell me a bit about your business, what you do, your brand, the colours you use on your site. Things like this allow me to get a picture of your business. If you like leave your contact number and I'll call you to go over these things. Alternatively my number is at the top of the page.
I like to talk to my clients before the session. This is not me just being nosy. It gives me a greater understanding of your company, your work and we can tailor the photos to suit your brand. Having an understanding of how you want the world to view you and your company can lead to a very successful photo shoot.
The session will take place in your place of work. I appreciate people have busy work lives so cutting out the time you spend travelling to me automatically cuts down on the amount of time your away from your work. Photographing you in your location also allows us to take some photos of you in your work environment and gives us more options on the shoot. This can be helpful for your potential clients to get a visual idea of your offices and gives us the option of showing you at work.
I have a portable studio that I use and takes little time to set up and take down. This includes lights, stands, reflectors, backgrounds, cameras etc. If you would prefer the shoot to be outside your office rather than in it, that's no problem, just let me know in advance and I'll prepare accordingly.
The shoot generally will last 30 minutes for a single person, subsequent people would take a bit less time as the lighting would already be set up and would just need to be adjusted. Roughly speaking it would be 30 minutes for the first person, and 15-20 minutes for each subsequent person.
After the session is complete I'll set up an online gallery for you and upload the photos there for you to review them. When you've decided which one(s) you want developed just let me know and I'll get started on them. I will have the photo(s) finalised and digitally delivered to you within two weeks.
I hope that goes some way towards giving you an understanding of the process involved in your photography session. If you're interested in booking a session or would like more details, please don't hesitate to contact us at the link at the top of the page.
